FCU AND SPRINKLER SYSTEM FOR SMALL SCALE SHOP

Updated: May 21

Designing mechanical systems for a small-scale shop, starting from the heating/cooling, ventilation ducts, and monitored fire valve provided by the mall management.

The design has been made according to the capacities designated by the mall management for the shop, without conducting calculations for heat loss and heat gain.

Ventilation System:

Fresh Air System The 530m3/h fresh air duct provided by the mall management at the entrance of the store will be brought to the fresh air inlet of the fan coil unit in the store for free blowing. The air duct will be insulated with 19mm rubber insulation as specified in the mall management's specifications. A 2400 m3/h capacity Fan Coil will be used with a 20% fresh air mixture to meet the heating and cooling needs of the store.

Exhaust Air System

The 480m3/h exhaust air duct provided by the mall management at the store entrance will be connected to a square suction anemostat inside the store.

Air Velocities Supply and exhaust grilles: 2-3 m/s Air Ducts: max. 8 m/s (ASHRAE)

Heating - Cooling System and Cooling System Drainage:

Heating and cooling will be provided by a concealed ceiling type fan coil unit with a capacity of 11.5 kW cooling and 2.7 kW heating. Connection will be made to the pipes left by the mall management at the store entrance for the fan coil. Existing pipe diameters will be utilized. The pipes will be insulated with 19mm rubber insulation. The fan coil drainage will be done with a 25mm diameter U-PVC pipe. A 13mm rubber insulation will be applied to the drainage pipe

.

Fire Installation:

Since the store is classified as Class III medium hazard, the sprinkler protection area has been calculated to be 12m². As the ceiling height is above 1m, upright sprinklers will be used within the suspended ceiling. Sprinkler pipe diameters have been determined according to the NFPA13 standard

pipe size table. Within the store, 1 unit of 6kg ABC dry chemical powder fire extinguisher will be placed. A surface-mounted fire cabinet with a 2” corner valve and a 1” 25m hose complying with EN 671-1 standards will be used.
